Everlasting Fence Company was founded by Michael J. Hensley in March of 1980. Working out of a pickup truck in his parent’s house on Lismore Avenue in Glenside, he strived to grow his business. Mike wanted to give his company a name that declared his belief, that a business should always be there for their customers and provide service after the install, and through that idea, the name Everlasting Fence Company came to be. By 1983 a full-time secretary was working from rented office space above The Bike Works on Easton Road and in 1986, they moved around the corner to an office space, with indoor storage, on Glenside Avenue. Everlasting Fence Company now had 6 full-time employees and Mike’s brother Bob moved home from Colorado to form a family partnership.
The business continued to flourish and in September of 1989, the partners purchased an 84,000 square foot lot and the entire operation was relocated to its present location at 39 Limekiln Pike in Glenside, Pennsylvania. In the early nineties, long time employee Ken Tarlo, joined the partnership and on August 13, 1996, Everlasting Fence Company was incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania. With a strong business plan in place, dedicated employees, and a fierce determination to be the best, the 3 partners continued to grow the business year after year.
Throughout the years, we have always continued to manage the business with our customers ultimate satisfaction in mind. By constantly researching new and old products, we can provide our customers with materials proven to last. By training our employees, not just in the proper ways to install fence, but to also understand our philosophy on customer service, we are able to provide the same level of customer service from first phone call to final inspection. Developing honest and long-standing relationships with our vendors has helped us maintain top quality materials and consistent inventories for over 4 decades.
Over these past 40+ years, we have developed great relationships with our customers. We have seen their children grow up and have installed fences for them as well, we were there when they bought new homes or when they got a new puppy. We are very proud of our record in the fence industry, the services we offer and the relationships we have built through the years. What Kind of guarantee do you offer? +We do not offer a standard guarantee, however, our name is our most valuable asset and we do stand behind our work. Complaints are handled on an individual basis and all cases of defective workmanship are corrected free of charge. Having a standard guarantee limits you to a window of time if you find an issue after the install. Material warranties vary depending on the type of materials used.
Do I need a permit? +Every municipality has its own Building Code and our salesmen can guide you through the basics of most codes. In general, the highest fence allowed is 6’ high, but they are only allowed in back yards, with 4’ high being the tallest fence you can do in a front yard. We offer a permit service where we apply and obtain the permit for you, but in general you obtain the permit.
Do you only offer installation services? +No! We offer supplies to homeowners, contractors, landscapers, and anyone else in need of DIY supplies. Our expert office staff can help you find the right product for your project and give you tips on how to install. We offer wholesale accounts for start-up companies as well.
Do you do commercial work as well? +Everlasting Fence maintains many relationships with large and small Building companies and General Contracting companies, to provide our services to Commercial, Industrial and Professional clients as well. We work on Union and Prevailing Wage sites or Open Shop labor projects as well.
EVERLASTING FENCE CO. is family owned business established in 1980. We are a full service fence company. We are fully insured, bondable and do both Union and Open Shop work. From our facility located in Glenside, Pennsylvania we serve the tri-state area for industrial, commercial and residential fence installations. We also maintain an extensive inventory of fence products for retail sales.

EVERLASTING FENCE CO. installers are paid by the hour, and take pride in their work. We do not employ subcontractors or pay piecework wages to employees who rush to “put up” fence for payday. This employment policy guarantees our stringent quality control standards and sets our company apart from other fence installation outfits.
